The Invasives
In ecology, invasives are defined as organisms that spread beyond control and threaten the environment, economy, or human health. Yet the distinction between “introduced” and “invasive” is never fixed.
The exhibition will bring together contemporary artists from Europe and the United States whose works reflect both ecological incursions and metaphorical invasions.
The history of SCHULE and the Sudeten lands embodies these same borders between “native” and “foreign”, which are also never stable, and change with political forces, similar to those that are now a growing threat to the fragile peace of Europe.
