Landscape Furniture – Sculptures in the Landscape II

The second sculpture mini-symposium in the landscape of the Orlické Mountains featuring artists: Dušan Záhoranský, Stanislav Zámečník, Tereza Severová, Jakub Gelltner, Jiří Kaňák, and Maxmilián Aaron Mootz.

The sculptures and objects presented within the mini-symposium are not placed in a traditional gallery setting but are freely dispersed throughout the landscape. Visitors may encounter them by chance during a walk, or intentionally seek them out using a prepared map. The visit thus becomes not only a meeting with art but also an opportunity to discover new corners of the landscape—places one might not otherwise come across.

An important aspect of the project is the dialogue between the landscape and contemporary art. Through their works, the artists respond to the specific environment—its natural character, social context, historical memory, ecological themes, and cultural traditions. Each object thus becomes a unique trace that enters the landscape with respect while also opening it to new interpretations.

The current edition is dedicated to the idea of transferring urban elements into the open landscape. Parts of urban furniture, architectural elements, or fragments of everyday city life become sources of inspiration, placed within a different—rural and natural—context. The result is an encounter between two distinct worlds: the urban and the landscape. At times they create harmony and resonance; at other moments a striking contrast emerges, encouraging viewers to reflect on how different environments shape our perception of things, values, and space itself.
