Summer Day Camp III
This year’s edition was dedicated to exploring the objects and dwellings found in the Orlické Mountains. Together with Eva Jiřička, we recorded small documentary reports about the lives of our older neighbors, imagined where and how we might live when we are ninety, and built models of our own houses.
With Tadeáš Polák, we created maps and stories from found objects, while Kristýna Taubelová guided us in making paper objects. Tomáš Moravec showed us how to cast negative portraits of the inhabitants of our houses, and Kazi Gilman introduced “memory boxes” inspired by the work of Joseph Cornell.
Tim Gilman, together with the children, built a real treehouse. Throughout the camp, Zuzka Jirsová and Zuzka Vepřeková accompanied the participants and created a camp zine—a small magazine documenting the shared work and experiences.
