Summer Creative School for Teachers II
Four Days of Inspiration
From 12–15 August 2025, the fourth edition of the Summer School for Teachers took place in the building of the former school in Šediviny. Educators from across the country came to the Orlické Mountains to explore together how language, memory, image, and imagination shape the ways we learn and think.
Four Days, Four Themes
From Sound to Algorithm – Roman Štětina guided participants through the world of language and sound. How do they shape our perception? Practical exercises with voice recording revealed the “inner censor” that often blocks our creativity.
Memory as a Teacher – Matěj Smetana, together with Katarina and Andrea, demonstrated that memory is not merely a storehouse of recollections but an active force shaping the way we learn. In the morning, participants explored how messages change across time and space; in the afternoon, the theme was translated into movement involving the whole body.
Visual Thinking – Katarina Kalivodová and Andrea Benková connected bodily experience with drawing, while Slavomíra Ondrušová led the experimental workshop Kiki and Bouba, revealing relationships between shape, sound, and meaning. Participants discovered drawing not only as an artistic discipline but also as a tool for reflection and mapping experience.
The final day focused on memory, algorithms, and imagination. Under the guidance of Kateřina Fojtíková, participants explored how our minds assemble meaning from fragments of knowledge—much like generative artificial intelligence. The day culminated in a shared reflection, showing that language, memory, and imagination are not just themes but living tools capable of transforming pedagogical practice.
