While Walking: a theatrical experience with Alena Skálová

about walking, freedom, landscape, pilgrims, adventure—and ourselves

A theatrical experience for adults as well as parents with children. You will move through the space, discover stories of travellers, and trace routes across a map with your finger. The performance combines object theatre, collage, and live performance for a small audience.

What do we seek and find while walking? How do we perceive the surrounding landscape, and how do we change within it? Why was walking important to Arthur Rimbaud, and what did Friedrich Nietzsche discover through it?

For some of us, walking is a daily morning ritual. Some enter into a dialogue with the place they live in while walking, while others set out on long pilgrimages through unknown landscapes. But for all of us, with every step we briefly lose our balance—and find it again.
