Transverse Section, Alžběta Říhová and Luboš Plný

Two seemingly diametrically different artists with two distinct artistic programs. Yet parallels can be found in their work: in their conceptual thinking about the image, in the presence of irony, and above all in a similar approach to reality. The cross-section that Alžběta Říhová makes through an architectural facade and Luboš Plný through the human body reveals, in the most general sense, an inherent truth that is hidden beneath the surface of banal everyday life when viewed ordinarily. It is a profound analysis, a radical disruption of an organism's integrity, a momentary freezing of a system. The cross-section is a brutal uncovering of the essence of being.
